Power Permissions

One of Zexion's notable canon abilities is being able to sense the balance of Light and Darkness in a person's heart. This is about as ill-defined and never elaborated upon as it sounds, so to give a quick rundown of what it means for the sake of this game:
  • Light and Darkness are forces that essentially correspond to positive and negative emotions. This doesn't mean Zexion can read your character's emotional state on the fly, but it does mean he'll be able to tell if they're overall more optimistic or pessimistic.
  • If you want to get more specific, he may also be able to tell just what kinds of Darkness and Light they tend to gather - How do their bad feelings manifest? Are they prone to resentment? Self-loathing? Ennui? How do their good feelings manifest? Are they confident? Happy? Righteously driven? This is completely voluntary, if you'd rather just stick to generalities (or opt-out entirely) that's fine too!
  • Note also that factors other than personality can affect Light/Dark balance! If your character is something monstrous (eg. a vampire, a demon, an undead) they may have a higher proportion of Darkness, though this is of course up to your discretion.
  • In any case, these signatures are unique as fingerprints and Zexion is able to use them to identify people from considerable distances away. How far isn't entirely clear in canon, but I've guesstimated it to be a little less than a mile assuming perfect conditions.
  • If your character is possessed, that's who Zexion will immediately pick up with this sense, even if the possessor isn't currently in control.
  • This sense is also somehow linked to his sense of smell, so if you want to include what your character actually physically smells like that's cool too!
Anyway this is all fairly complicated so I've included a permissions form below. If you choose to opt out entirely it won't necessarily mean that Zexion won't be able to sense your character (unless they have some kind of nullifying ability), but I'll contrive to have the exact contents of their heart just never come up. Thanks!

Do you want Zexion to be able to pick up on your character's Light/Darkness balance?

Sure!

If so, what is it like? Are they generally more positive, or negative?
I'm going to assume Aqua has an overpowering amount of light, considering how long she ends up surviving the Realm of Darkness while unprotected from its effects. That said, Ghost Drive has such a darkness-type style to it...and I'd use the term positive, ultimately. She's just got an eclipse hanging at the borders.

Optionally, what do they actually smell like?
Answers this for fun ------ fruity because Aqua looks like a Garnier Fructis kind of girl.

Jonathan is a positive person, but he has been turned into a creature of Darkness.

Optionally, what do they actually smell like?
Blood. And soap! He is a clean vampire.

Stephen probably tips further toward darkness than lightness. He's surprisingly optimistic at his core and genuinely enjoys being a wizard and living his awful wizard life, but he's tainted himself with all kinds of dark magic and is probably damned to some hell or another.

Optionally, what do they actually smell like?
He smells overwhelmingly of magic, if magic has a scent. Old books, probably, otherwise.

Another thing I don't know if Zexion will pick up on that I'm mentioning on these kinds of permission posts: Stephen's body is permeated with magic to the point where it's really unhealthy (I understand that may not be a thing that's possible in Zexion's home universe). He's also carrying a number of magical parasites that feed on that magic energy, some of which are actually helpful in mitigating some of its effects; others are just kind of there.

It is a dark fox spirit hiding out in a magically made human body. Given that it is an agent of Chaos and feeds on pain/hate/strife, it's probably pretty dark. As for Light and Darkness of the heart, it probably doesn't have any since it is an animal and is stated in canon to not understand right/wrong good/evil or even give a damn about those things. It understands how to hurt humans and feed off them, how to smash Order. I don't know if that helps?

Optionally, what do they actually smell like? Eastern incense with fox.

Additionally: It is a possession, kinda sorta? It made the body as a copy of Stiles, but it is a spirit in control of a body in the end.

Sure :>

Victor probably feels overwhelmingly dark. He's highly pragmatic which can make him cruel, he has a vengeance streak a mile long that he's also very patient and driven in relation to, and he's just generally not a super nice person, kind of monstrous.

Optionally, what do they actually smell like?
Victor probably smells like ice in a really-frigid-winter-morning kind of way.

Do you want Zexion to be able to pick up on your character's Light/Darkness balance?
yes for both!

COLE (DRAGON AGE): light light LIGHT. He's a spirit of compassion who's main drive in life is helping people. There's definitely some darkness underneath that light (as Cole did a few murders in his backstory), but the overall effect is aggressively light.
DORIAN GRAY (CODG): Dorian on the other hand, is all darkness. Dorian is a soulless immortal who's spent a lot of time ruining lives and being a dick. His darkness manifests as self-loathing and cruelty.
Optionally, what do they actually smell like?Anything else? Cole, in all honesty, probably smells kind of gross as he's from a fantasy canon and isn't really used to that whole 'regularly bathing' thing. Dorian smells like expensive cologne.
